‌‌Silicon bronze plate‌ is a bronze material with silicon as the main alloying element. In addition to silicon, it also contains a small amount of manganese, nickel, zinc or other elements. Silicon is a limited solid solution in copper, and the maximum solubility can reach 5.3% at 852℃, but as the temperature decreases, the solubility decreases, and the aging hardening effect is not strong, so it is generally not subjected to strengthening heat treatment.

Physical and mechanical properties
Silicon bronze plate has the following physical and mechanical properties:

Strength: After quenching and tempering, the strength and hardness are greatly improved.
‌Wear resistance: It has good wear resistance and is suitable for working conditions with poor lubrication.
‌Corrosion resistance: It has high corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water and sea water, and a dense and strong chloride film will form on the surface, but the erosion rate will accelerate in high flow rate or high temperature environment.
‌Processability: It is easy to process and can be processed by cold and hot pressure, but it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment.

Application fields
Silicon bronze plates are widely used in the following fields:
‌Machinery manufacturing‌: Used to manufacture friction parts under working conditions below 300°C, poor lubrication, and low unit pressure, such as guide sleeves for engine exhaust and intake valves‌1.
‌Electrical industry‌: It also has important applications in the electrical industry, especially in marine environments‌.
‌Other applications‌: It is also used to make springs, spring parts, worms, worm gears, bushings, brake pins and rod-type wear-resistant parts, and can even replace tin bronze or beryllium bronze‌
